Goodyear, Mary E.
Mary E. Goodyear, 92, formerly of Williams Township, passed
away Thursday, August 9, 2007 in ManorCare II, Bethlehem. Born:
On August 30, 1914 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late
Frank H. Sr. and Sarah Wolbach Lee.
Personal: Her husband of 43 years, John H., died July 5, 1975.
Mary retired from A & H Sportswear. Prior to that, she
worked for Delightform. She graduated in 1930 from Easton High
School at the top of her class.
Memberships: She was a member of Christ Evangelical Congregation
Church "The Blue Church" for many years. She was
there almost every time the doors were open. She was on the
official board, was a Sunday school teacher, a soloist in the
church choir, a missionary society member and past president,
and a lay delegate to the church conference many times. She
was also a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Survivors: She is survived by a son, *****. and his wife
***** of West Easton; a daughter, *****i and her
husband **** of Moravia, NY; granddaughters, grandsons, ; 30
great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A grandson,
John H. Goodyear III, a granddaughter, Laura Lee Karp, four
brothers, William, Frank, Norman and John Lee and a daughter-in-law,
Dorothy J. Goodyear, all died earlier.
Services: Will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Strunk Funeral
Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton St., Wilson Borough. Call on Monday
from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. all
in the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
